Info
This album wasnt really supposed to be an album at first. Technically I started working on this album in 2020, with samples I made/used on it ranging back to 2019 when I was still in highschool. Many of the tracks on this album were very much made in an era of experimentation, me trying to find a sound of music I like to make. Hence why the single releases of this album were around the same time as releases of a folk cover and even a singer-songwriter type track. Since then, I discovered that I like making the type of music you hear on this album, but that will obviously probably change to different extents at different points in the future. As even though it seems I went through a point of experimentation until I arrived here, no one ever stops being influenced by music and art in general, even if they dont make it themselves. Therefore, my music style will probably change again at some point in the future, so instead of thinking, worrying, or even trying to "plan" it, Im just gonna roll with the punches and see what happens. This album is essentially a bunch of tracks that I made throughout the last 3 years that I think are high quality, had an emotional connection with each other relating to me, and a connection in terms of the way they sound. This album has been slowly growing with me overtime. With influences/recordings of me having fun on the piano during my teens (which was able to happen because of me learning the piano/taking lessons from my cousin when I was really young still in elementary school), and has samples of even the first track I produced in Garageband back during the Covid lockdowns of 2020. "Le Quatorze Avril", which is my Lo-Fi esque piano improvisation on the Aphex Twin song "Avril 14th", even contains samples from old home videos of my family, which adds to the personal connection to me, and the nostalgia feeling the album gives off. One of my best friends (after listening to the album) said the whole thing sounds like a memory, as it contains sounds of past experiences, whether it's nature sounds or the sound of friends talking. Also, all of the sounds are recorded and mixed in a way to sound slightly broken and faded but still sturdy enough to give off a feeling/emotion. The fact that most of the pianos I used on this album were broken and out of tune contributes to this old, slightly changed, and faded memory feeling as well. Even the non broken pianos I still recorded and mixed in a way to sound sorta "broken", and it seemed to work pretty well. Anyway, I hope yall like this album as much as I do, or even if you think its decent id still be flattered. Of course ill keep making music, in fact, as I write this I think im already slowly developing a new album lol Thanks for listening and reading <3 Blaned (Dylan (Coco) Magnet)
